date to the right. Above Lincoln’s head is the
phrase ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’.
The reverse shows ‘ONE CENT’ above ‘UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA’, with an ear of wheat to either
side. Above is the Latin phrase ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’,
which translates to ‘out of many, one’, the US motto.
